During 1994, we located two farms in Lucas county, south of Des Moines, and set about to develop a retirement retreat
to get us out of Urbandale during the summer and provide hunting in the fall.
Suprise of suprises, we ended up with two Quarter horses, forty head of cattle, our german
shepherd dogs and a fair amount of work. WE LOVE IT!!!!!
We now reside full time on the farm and visit
Urbandale. Judy has always loved to be around horses. We now have 14 and have decided
to concentrate on paints. We do have a few appaloosa and appaloosa/quarter horse bred grade horses available on
the farm at the current time.
We are also transitioning our crossbred cow/calf inventory to an angus cow/calf operation.
Our grain operation remains corn, beans and alfalfa.
With each of us spending 30 years in the telecommunications industry, this has been
interesting and enjoyable.
